Smartphone Shipments in India SURGE 7.3 Percent in Q2 2025, Vivo Mantains Top Spot, Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo

In the second half of this year in the country, smartphone shipments have increased by 7.3 percent on a year-on-year basis. In the first half, about seven crore smartphones were shipped in the country. It was a growth of about 0.9 percent. In the second half, China’s Vivo has retained its first place in this market.

According to market research firm IDC’s worldwide quarterly mobile phone tracker, seven crores in the first half of this year in the country Smartphones Has been shipped. In the second quarter, smartphone shipments have been about 3.7 million units. This is an increase of 7.3 percent on a year-on-year basis. New launch behind this and cuts in the price of old smartphones are the main reasons. However, due to the weakening of consumer demand and increasing the average selling price (ASP) of smartphones, recovery in this market can be slow in the current year.

In the first half of this year, American devices maker Apple retained its strong performance in the smartphone market. In the first half, Apple has a shipment of about 59 lakh units. This is an increase of 21.5 percent on a year-on-year basis. Apple’s iPhone 16 has been the best -selling smartphone in the country during this period. The iPhone 16 holds four percent of the total shipments of the smartphone. It has been reported in this report that Vivo has retained its first place in the sixth consecutive quarter in the smartphone market.

South Korea’s Samsung is second with a 21 percent stake in this market. Samsung’s new Galaxy A, M and F series smartphones have received good response from customers. Recently, the company launched the new series of its foldable smartphone. This includes Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 Fe. The company had said that 2.10 lakh pre-orders have been received for these smartphones in the country within the first 48 hours. In the second quarter, China’s Oppo ranked third in the smartphone market. Oppo’s K13 and Oppo A5X models have been sold in large numbers. The entry-level segment (less than $ 100) in the smartphone market has increased by 22.9 percent on a year-on-year basis.
